Extracurricular Activities

At zera, we believe that extracurricular activities play an essential role in a well-rounded education. Students have the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build teamwork and leadership abilities through a variety of programs.

1. Co-Curricular Activities (CCA)

CCAs are offered during school hours and are designed to provide students with exposure to different hobbies and interests. These activities encourage personal growth, creativity, and fun without the pressure of formal assessments. CCAs are a great way for students to explore new areas, socialize, and enhance their learning experience in a relaxed environment.

Number of Activities: Students may participate in up to two CCAs per term, allowing them to explore multiple areas of interest. (list may vary time to time)

Focus Areas: These activities may include clubs such as:

  • Art Club
  • Music Club
  • Chess/Boardgames Club
  • Debate and Public Speaking
  • Robotics and Coding Club
  • Language and Cultural Club

Participation in CCAs is encouraged for all students, helping them build a balanced and engaging school life.

2. Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA)

ECAs are more specialized activities offered after school hours, aimed at nurturing students' hobbies and interests in a more professional manner. Unlike CCAs, ECAs may include formal training, preparation for exams, or the opportunity to earn certifications in the activity chosen.

Additional Fees: Since ECAs often involve specialized coaching, equipment, or external instructors, they come with extra charges.

Professional Development: ECAs are designed for students who want to take their skills to the next level, with a focus on:

  • Music Examinations (e.g., ABRSM for music)
  • Art Certifications
  • Sports Competitions (such as swimming, tennis, or soccer tournaments)
  • Language Certifications (e.g., DELE for Spanish, HSK for Mandarin)
  • Coding and Technology Courses

Students who participate in ECAs will have the opportunity to receive structured training, take assessments, and gain official certifications or qualifications in their chosen field. These programs are ideal for students with a passion for their hobbies and a desire to pursue them professionally.

Both CCA and ECA programs are integral to student development, providing enriching experiences that extend beyond the classroom and contribute to personal growth.

Please note: CCA & ECA offerings may change over time based on student interests and availability. The school is always looking to introduce new activities to ensure a wide range of experiences for our students.
