Role Overview

Main teacher in the ACE PLUS programme (special education / SEN setting). Responsible for student academic progress, individualised curriculum modification, PACE delivery, testing with accommodations, and coordination with the intervention team. Oversees Teacher Monitors and maintains a safe, supportive learning environment tailored to each student's needs.

1. Arrival & Opening (7:45–8:00 AM)

SV01 — Arrival Screening (Daily)

  1. Teacher Monitor conducts body screening and mood/behaviour observation
  2. Contact parents if you notice signs of sickness, scratches/wounds, or significant changes in mood or behaviour
  3. Prepare PACE tests for students scheduled to test today
  4. Transition students to class time

SV02 — Friday Morning Devotion (Weekly)

  1. Prepare devotion duty roster and related materials ahead of Friday
  2. Conduct morning devotion session with students
  3. Transition students to class time after devotion

SV03 — Goal Card Setting & Curriculum Modification (Daily)

  1. Review each student's current PACE position and pace of progress
  2. Modify curriculum, goals, and pace to match individual student needs
  3. Set appropriate daily goals on goal cards
  4. Ensure goals are achievable and account for sensory or behavioural considerations
  5. Brief Teacher Monitor on students needing extra attention or specific strategies
  6. Identify students' learning needs and prepare appropriate strategies in advance (visuals, sensory tools, timer, media resources)
  7. Monitor goal completion throughout the day with encouragement and redirection
  8. Review completed goal cards at dismissal with Teacher Monitor

SV04 — Academic Support & Scaffolding (Class Time)

  1. Answer academic questions, quiz Self Tests, and provide scaffolding when needed
  2. Collect and mark student English work and essays
  3. Provide written feedback and return marked work
  4. Monitor and promote positive behaviour support and reinforcement in class
  5. Facilitate engagement — keep students on task through encouragement and redirection
  6. Facilitate student independence by prompting self-management (time, belonging, emotion, behaviour, seeking help), problem-solving, and peer interaction
  7. Manage sensory needs as needed (fatigue, overstimulation, stress)
  8. Monitor performance of Teacher Monitors and provide guidance
  9. Record scores in progress tracking
  10. Report student progress and discuss strategies with intervention team

SV05 — Counsel & Discipline

  1. Identify behavioural concern (from own observation or Teacher Monitor report)
  2. Apply calm, restorative approaches to address the behaviour
  3. Speak with student to understand the situation, adapting communication to student's needs
  4. Consult Interventionist for students with behavioural intervention plans
  5. Document the incident and action taken
  6. Communicate with parents if behaviour is recurring or serious
  7. Escalate to Principal of PLUS if needed
  8. Follow up with student to monitor improvement

3. Test Time (By Event)

SV06 — Mark Test, Record Test

Frequency: as needed (per PACE test completion) Approval: Supervisor Tools: score keys / scoring device Coordinates with: Teacher Monitor

  1. Ensure student readiness — quiz student and evaluate condition before testing
  2. Provide accommodations where required (extra time, simplified instructions, alternative formats)
  3. Receive completed PACE test from student
  4. Mark PACE test in teacher's room using score keys
  5. Record student's score onto supervisor's progress card
  6. Determine if student passes or needs to restudy
  7. Return marked test to Teacher Monitor for filing
  8. Communicate result to student with encouragement and guidance

SV07 — Issue New Book (After Test)

  1. Confirm student has passed the current PACE
  2. Identify the next PACE in sequence, considering any curriculum modifications
  3. Check availability in stock
  4. Issue new PACE to the student
  5. Update student's curriculum tracker
  6. Brief student on the new PACE content and expectations
  7. Update goal card accordingly (SV03)

4. Break / Lunch (10:00–10:30 AM)

SV08 — Break Supervision

  1. Ensure 100% safety for all students in your class
  2. Ensure Teacher Monitor is supervising all students during transitions
  3. Ensure inclusion and peer social opportunities during unstructured time
  4. Handle discipline or problem-solving with calm, restorative approaches
  5. Monitor that all students have food; contact parents or Operations if a student has none
  6. Be available for any escalated issues from Teacher Monitor
  7. Ensure smooth transition back to class time

5. Dismissal / After Dismissal

SV09 — Daily Wrap-Up (1:30–2:00 PM)

  1. Review completed goal cards and confirm student progress for the day
  2. Discuss student learning needs with Interventionist
  3. Debrief with Teacher Monitor on any unfinished duties or issues
  4. Communicate with parents to ensure consistency between home and school
  5. Record and review academic and behavioural progress
  6. Update behaviour log or progress notes as needed
  7. Plan adjustments for the next day (goal cards, strategies, sensory tools)
  8. Ensure classroom is tidy and ready for the next day

6. Admin & Periodic

SV10 — Weekly Progress Report

  1. Compile student progress data for the week
  2. Include input from Interventionist on intervention outcomes
  3. Note any behavioural, social, or academic concerns
  4. Submit report to Principal of PLUS

SV11 — Supervisor Progress Card (Termly)

  1. Compile each student's PACE completion data for the term
  2. Record scores from all completed PACE tests
  3. Calculate progress against individualised term targets
  4. Note behavioural, social, and character development observations
  5. Include input from Interventionist on intervention progress
  6. Complete progress card for each student
  7. Review with Principal of PLUS if needed
  8. File progress cards and prepare for report card (SV12) or Family Connect (SV13)

SV12 — Prepare Student Report Card (2nd & 4th Term)

  1. Gather all PACE test scores and progress card data (SV11)
  2. Collect input from Interventionist on intervention outcomes
  3. Compile academic results by subject
  4. Write comments on student's progress, strengths, and areas for growth
  5. Include behavioural, social, and independence development observations
  6. Submit draft report card to Principal of PLUS for review
  7. Finalise and print report cards
  8. Distribute to parents at Family Connect (SV13) or via Commun

SV13 — Family Connect (End of Term)

  1. Schedule parent-teacher meeting slots via Commun
  2. Prepare discussion points for each student (progress, intervention updates, goals, concerns)
  3. Gather supporting data (progress card, report card, goal card trends, intervention notes)
  4. Conduct meetings with parents
  5. Discuss strategies for consistency between home and school
  6. Document agreed action points and commitments
  7. Follow up on any outstanding parent concerns
  8. Share summary with Principal of PLUS

SV14 — PACE Stock Projection & Order

  1. Review current PACE stock levels against student needs
  2. Project PACE requirements for the upcoming term based on individual student progress rates
  3. Account for new intake students and any curriculum modifications
  4. Prepare order list with quantities and subject breakdown
  5. Submit order request to Principal of PLUS for approval
  6. Coordinate with Finance for procurement
  7. Receive and verify delivered stock
  8. Update inventory records
  9. Submit used PACE count to Finance (termly)

SV15 — Event Coordination & Parent Communication

  1. Coordinate and plan for school activities and events
  2. Communicate and coordinate with parents for all events as required:
    • Meeting slots for Parents Conference
    • Sports Day
    • Field Trip
    • Year End Party
    • Awards Night
  3. Confirm student participation and any special accommodations needed
  4. Brief Teacher Monitors on event logistics and student needs

SV16 — E-PACE

  1. Set up student access to E-PACE digital platform
  2. Assign digital PACEs to students as appropriate for their needs
  3. Monitor student progress on the platform
  4. Troubleshoot access or technical issues
  5. Record E-PACE completion alongside physical PACE tracking

7. Events

Event duties may be assigned to either Supervisor or Teacher Monitor.

HE01 — Students Convention — Supervise

  1. Receive event brief and student participant list
  2. Prepare students for convention activities, considering individual needs
  3. Supervise students throughout the event with attention to sensory and behavioural needs
  4. Ensure student safety and behaviour standards
  5. Debrief with students and staff after event

HE02 — Students Convention — Chaperone

Frequency: yearly Approval: Principal of PLUS Coordinates with: Teacher Monitor, Operations (Transport)

  1. Confirm chaperone assignment and student group
  2. Coordinate transport and logistics with Operations
  3. Accompany students to and from venue
  4. Maintain headcount and safety throughout
  5. Report any incidents to Principal of PLUS

HE03 — Students Convention — Judges

Frequency: yearly Approval: Principal of PLUS Coordinates with: convention organisers

  1. Receive judging criteria and schedule
  2. Attend briefing session
  3. Evaluate student performances or submissions fairly
  4. Submit scores and feedback
  5. Maintain confidentiality of results until announcement

HE04 — Teachers Convention

  2. Arrange class coverage during absence

  1. Identify students performing or receiving awards
  2. Plan and rehearse student performances with appropriate support
  3. Coordinate costume, props, and logistics with Events team

  5. Conduct final rehearsal before event
  6. Supervise students on the night of the event

8. Others

HO01 — Scorekey and Labels Repairs (End of Year)

Frequency: yearly Approval: Supervisor Tools: score keys / labels / repair materials Coordinates with: Teacher Monitor

  1. Audit all score keys for damage or wear at end of year
  2. Identify labels that need replacement
  3. Repair or replace damaged score keys and labels
  4. Organise and file score keys for next academic year
