Counselling, support & wellbeing

At ZERA, education begins with the wellbeing of every child.

We educate the whole child — not just the student. Our counselling and support services nurture emotional, psychological and social growth, and lay the foundation for genuine academic success.

It is our goal that every student receives the care, intervention and guidance they need to navigate their challenges and thrive. This is humanistic education in practice — the clearest expression of who we are.

Belonging

Every child is seen and valued, exactly as they are — rooted in our value of authenticity.

Strength

Children grow stronger through challenge, supported to build resilience and a problem-solving mindset.

Passion

Learning pursued with heart — the zealous energy that turns effort into joy.

Our support pathway

Four ways we care for every student

1 · Counselling services

Emotional and psychological support for students, whenever they need it.

  • Referral — students, teachers or parents may request counselling.
  • Assessment — the counsellor evaluates the student’s needs.
  • Sessions — individual or group counselling, as needed.
  • Parent involvement — updates shared when appropriate.
  • Confidentiality — sessions stay private unless safety is a concern.

2 · Parental support & consultation

Guiding parents to support their child’s emotional wellbeing, connecting them to qualified professionals when needed.

  • Request consultation — parents can seek professional advice.
  • Expert panel — access to professionals for guidance.
  • Recommendations — practical strategies for support at home.
  • Follow-ups — progress monitoring and further support if needed.

3 · Learning support (SEN)

Tailored learning strategies for students with special educational needs.

  • Referral — teachers or parents may request learning support.
  • Learning assessment — a personalised support plan is created.
  • Implementation — targeted sessions begin for the student’s needs.
  • Progress monitoring — development is reviewed regularly.
  • Collaboration — ongoing communication with parents and teachers.

4 · Emotional wellbeing monitoring

Tracking and supporting students’ emotional health throughout the year.

  • Regular check-ins — teachers and counsellors observe and engage with students.
  • Early intervention — support offered as soon as it’s needed.
  • Parental updates — regular emotional progress reports.
  • Crisis support — urgent intervention if required.

Our counselling and support services are led by Mr Alex (Counsellor) together with Ms Helena (Principal) — working hand in hand with teachers and families so that no child, and no parent, faces a challenge alone.
